Test your liver’s health

Test your liver’s health

Did you know that the liver performs over 500 functions? That makes it one of the most important organs of our bodies. And this means that we don’t have to neglect it, but offering special care. You want to find out whether you have a healthy liver or if it needs detoxification? Here’s a short and simple test you have to take to find the answer.

What to do?
It’s really simple. All you have to do is to answer the following questions, as honestly as possible: Do you drink alcohol on a daily basis? And if so, what is the approximate amount of alcohol that you drink per week?

I told you that it was quite simple. The diagnosis is even simpler. If you answered yes to the first question and three drinks per week or less to the second question, it means that your liver is considered to be healthy and three years younger than your real physical age. If your answer is four, your liver is considered to have the same age as you have. And up to this, it is considered to be within normal limits. What about if you drink more than five drinks per week? It seems that your liver is older than you and implies that special care is needed if you want to avoid health problems.

It is well known the fact that the liver is able to regenerate. But did you know that every single time you consume alcohol the liver needs to filter it and some cells die? Plus, if you consume large amounts of alcohol for an extended period of time, cells cannot regenerate and might cause serious health problems.

What next to have a healthy liver?
Are you worried about your test result? It would be wise to take action. First thing you can do is pay more attention of what you drink and try monitoring it. It is utterly important not to drink more than a glass of wine per day. Secondly, in parallel, you can reduce the amount of daily fat in your diet. This helps preventing cirrhosis and liver cancer. In the end, don’t forget about sports! It plays a significant role, balancing the liver’s health.
